Conference Programme

Presentation
The idea behind this conference is that the figure of a leader is built by and manifests itself in speech, and that the leadership associated with the leader is the result of a discursive construction as well as the source of a new creation. Thus, this international conference aims to bring together researchers from diverse geographical backgrounds and disciplines to address the problem of ‘the leader’ and the concept of leadership from a comparative perspective. The objective thereof is to consider the ways in which leaders and leaderships emerge and evolve through a process of discursive co-construction, involving various actors in society: the leaders themselves, the media, the citizens and even the scientific community.
